First dissemination meeting of the PRECISEMED project results behind us

The first Multiplier Event of the Erasmus+ KA220-HED PRECISEMED project, entitled "Precision Medicine Education for Clinical Implementation and Science Excellence in Medical Training", was held on 6 May 2025 in Pécs, Hungary, at Ifjúság Street 20, with the goal of disseminating early project results and engaging key stakeholders in precision medicine education. Organized under Work Package 5 – Evaluation and Dissemination, the event introduced the project’s objectives, structure, and initial progress on the development of a multi-tier, open-access curriculum covering basic and advanced modules on genomic testing and precision medicine.

Dr. Bence Gálik, professional leader of the iBioScience Kft. (Hungary) team, delivered the main presentation at the event, providing an overview of the current status of Work Packages 2-4, including the development of the basic and advanced curricula, the Teacher’s Guide, and the implementation of the e-learning platform. The coordinator of the project, the Medical University of Poland (Poland), and the partner institution, the University College Cork (Ireland), were also contributing to discussions and engaging with participants to reinforce the collaborative nature of the PRECISEMED project.

Notable educational content covered a wide spectrum of topics, from ethical/legal aspects to advanced bioinformatics tools in oncology and transcriptomics, with several modules already achieving substantial progress (e.g., 76% for secondary cancer genomics analysis). Attendees were informed about the project’s interdisciplinary scope, practical relevance, and contributions to bridging educational gaps in genomic medicine.

The event reinforced collaboration among academic institutions and the biotech industry and gathered feedback from participants to support future improvements and dissemination efforts across European Higher Education Institutions.

The event saw attendance far exceeding expectations, bringing together a diverse group of participants including university faculty, medical students, healthcare professionals, and visiting experts from Hungary as well as from Poland, Ireland, Italy, Czech Republic, Norway, and Ukraine. In total, over 40 participants attended the event, representing both partner institutions and external stakeholders from academia and healthcare.

Attendees actively engaged throughout the session, making use of the opportunity to interact with presenters and project representatives, ask questions, and exchange perspectives on the implementation and educational impact of precision medicine.

It is worth noting that on 6-7 May, 2025, the Transnational Project Meeting (TPM No 3.) was also organized. The meeting was an opportunity to exchange information regarding the progress of the activities conducted with in the PRECISEMED project. The meeting commenced on the 6th May, 2025 (at 09:30) with an official welcome by the host organization, iBioScience Kft. Dr. Bence Gálik opened the session, followed by an overview of the agenda. Progress of all work packages (1-5) was discussed. During the second day of the meeting, project team representatives were talking about evaluating progress and refining future planning.
